The Road goes ever on and on,
down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
and I must follow, if I can.
Pursuing it with eager feet,
until it joins some larger way.
Where many paths and errands meet,
and whither then? I cannot say.

I whilst be gone a fortnight, on a grand adventure.
(I hope I hope)
When I return, I will have many stories to share
I promise I promise.

Fair winds fill my sails,
and may the mermaids sing in perfect tune.
Farewell, Farewell.

"But where will I go? How will I know the way?"
"You are the Storyteller," the tree replied,
"Only you can write the story from here."

  1. Have a nice trip!
(Please be careful of the mermaids' singing do not let their perfect tune stray you from your course, but let it carry you with the winds)
I am looking forward to your new stories :)

  2. May true love and high adventure find you, my lovely! Reading Walt Whitman's 'Ode to the Open Road' always helps on long and uncertain journeys, I find - almost as much as Tolkein. xx
